Best Cleaning Products for Pet Owners

Anyone who knows me knows that I am a cleaning freak. Keeping things clean and today in a house full of dogs & cats is easier said than done. Today I’m going to share my top 5 cleaning tools that help me keep pet hair & mess under control at all times.

1. Dyson Corded Vacuum

A good quality vacuum is a must when you have furry creatures sharing your living space. I have used a Dyson for over 5 years now and I will never go back. They are the best. Disclosure: I actually have 2 Dyson vacuums, this corded one which I love for carpets & deep cleaning and this cordless stick version which is my main floor “quick tidy” vacuum.

2. Steam Mop

This steam mop is a newer addition to my cleaning arsenal. I purchased one about 6 months ago and fell head over heels in love. As the name suggests this mop uses steam to clean, meaning you can avoid using harsh, toxic floor cleaners completely. It also leaves floors nice and shiny. It also kills 99.9% of floor bacteria making it perfect for cleaning up around where our dogs & cats eat their raw food.

3. Robot Vacuum

A robot vacuum is definitely a splurge item. However, I run mine twice a day (morning & night) and cannot imagine going back to life without one. It helps keep the day to day hair buildup to a minimum and I only have to pull out a real vacuum a few times a week.

4. Air Purifier

Using an air purifier with a HEPA filter helps to remove dander and common allergens out of the air. Doing so helps keep your home smelling fresh and kills airborne viruses and bacteria.

5. Essential Oil Diffuser

Using essential oil diffusers can not only have therapeutic benefits for your pets but also, can work to reduce odours and fight bacteria your home. Some of my favourite pet safe oils include Lavender and Spearmint.
